Heliopolis, Egypt, Died of Sickness Cemetery or Memorial: War Memorial Cemetery, Cairo, Egypt                                       Soldiers' Memorial Macarthur Park Camden Father: Albert SMALL (21 Oct 1848 - 16 Jan 1910) Mother: Sarah Ann PERCIVAL (abt 1860 - 16 Jan 1927) Marriage: Alice Mildred STAFFORD 29 April 1914 (age 21) Brownlow Hill, NSW, Australia Hector's occupation was Farmer when he enlisted August 1914 at Camden and served in the 1st. Australian Light Horse. Prior to enlistment he had served 3 years in the Light Horse. His wife's address was 'Passchendaele', Brownlow Hill, Camden. Hector departed Sydney on the 'Star of Victoria' 20 October 1914. His widow Mrs Alice Small unveiled the Soldiers' Memorial in Macarthur Park Camden on 11 February 1922 Lance Corporal Hector SMALL contracted severe diarrhoea while on active service at Gallipoli. He died of enteric fever and haemorrhage at No.1 Aust. General Hospital Heliopolis, Egypt on 4 July 1915 age 23.
